BI comparison

How Business Insider’s Sale Price Stacks Up

I'm not sure I'd put BI in the same league as NYT and Boston Globe etc but congrats to the founders.

Shows that with time and hard work that Venture Capital (notice the capital V for 'venture' eg has risk and not ‘safe as banks investment capital’) can make good returns for both founders and investors.

Cheers,

Social Media Photo Branding Rights

The irony that no one in this article is pointing out that by posting on Instagram/social media there  is no need for them to seek your permission as they aren't 'copying" the photo just embedding your photo.

Robin "the cloud based android phone"

"Nothing excited me in mobile in the past few years," Tom Moss says, leaning back in an office chair. Far as he's concerned, smartphone makers -- especially those working with Android — have spent way too much time crafting hardware and not nearly enough effort on innovating software. That's why, when the bug to build something new bit again, Moss gathered an Android dream team to build a "cloud-first" smartphone called Robin.

Its an interesting idea- I'm actually surprised people aren't tying handsets to "cloud based cpu's" yet.

This was one of the concepts Cognation and Mexuar were looking to deploy on the SavaJe mobile OS in 2006.

Removing the device from the "services" we felt was the key to leapfrogging Moores Law permanently.
